Chamber of Commerce of South Logan County
October Daze has come and gone. There was an excellent turnout. Over 40 vendors sold and passed out information. There were numerous people that volunteered, from setting up to judging to tearing down. There is not enough room to name them all but know that you are appreciated.
The 54th Arkansas Marathon was held on the same day as October Daze. There were 160 registered runners. Again, there were numerous people who helped where help was needed. The aide stations were awesome. Our winner for the Spirit Station was the Bearcat Girls Basketball. The second and third-place winners were the Junior High Beta Club for their two stations.
The Chamber has some exciting things coming up. On November 1st, we will host a coffee mixer at Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center located on South Hwy 23. It starts at 9:00 AM. If you ever wondered what happens at the research center, this is a good chance for you to find out.
The 4th and 5th of November will be Sell It Again On Highway 10. This is a good chance to set up a yard sale or look at yard sales. While you are in town that day, stop by our local shops for the many holiday sales they will be having.
November 19th, from 10:00 AM -5:00 PM, we will be having the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Mingle and Jingle Shopping. If your business would like to be added to the list of local shops celebrating with refreshments and door prizes, please contact the Chamber at 479-675-2666.
Clear your calendar for December 3rd. That is going to be a busy day in Booneville. It kicks off with the Lion’s Club annual Pancake Breakfast. Get all the pancakes you can eat from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. They will be at the Community Building at 426 Holden Avenue. Later that day, at 6:00 PM, will be the Booneville Christmas Parade. The theme this year is “A Whoville Christmas.” You can channel your inner Dr. Suess and have some fun. Parade entry forms are available for pickup at the Chamber. Immediately after the parade, Santa will be hosting a Meet & Greet at Veteran’s Park. The Booneville Garden Club will be announcing the winners of the tree decorating contest. Come take your pictures with Santa while enjoying cookies and hot chocolate.
