Booneville Garden Club, November 2021

The meeting was called to order at 1 PM, by Vice President, Sue Hughes, who then gave the devotional.

The Minutes and Treasurer's report were read by Secretary/Treasurer, Darlene Wolski-Miller, bringing us up to date.

Business included a report from Yard of the Month chairman, Sherri Wagner. October's award went to Vonda and Goldie Hall, and the November winner was Willota and Duane Andrews. Both beautiful, well-cared-for yards. Storefront of the Month for October went to Don's Easy Pay, located at 853 E. Main, while the November winner was Mt. Vista Real Estate, at 288 N. Broadway. Congratulations to these winners for going the extra mile to help make Booneville a good hometown - one we can all be proud of.

Our Christmas Tree chairman, Sue Hughes, reported that all the trees have been spoken for and must be decorated no later than Dec. 3rd. The judges have been selected and are eager to pick the winners; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plaques will be awarded.

The Tree Lighting ceremony will be Sat., Dec. 4th. We hope you'll come out after the 6 pm

Christmas Parade and join the festivities at City Hall and Veteran's Park, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, take a stroll through the decorated trees, enjoy a cup of coffee or some hot chocolate and cookies, and visit with friends and neighbors. We're looking forward to it!

Member, Tanya Skoumbourdis, shared some cuttings from her Sephora Japonica plant with us. It's well-known for aiding with skin problems, eye infections, and more. There is a lot more to plants than just greenery or pretty flowers.

Our program was presented by Darlene Wolski-Miller. We learned how to make Milk Jug Cold Frames to start seeds outside in winter. Nice to have healthy plants ready to plant in your garden and flowerbeds come Spring.

Our delicious refreshments were provided by Pat Jackson. We have talented members!

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 and we looked forward to our Christmas get-together in December.
