Guy Robson for City Council
I am Guy Robson and currently serve as a Booneville City council member. I have been on the council for 7 terms of two years each for a total of 14 years. I am running for re-election.
I was born in New Zealand. In 1980, I moved to the United States. I have dual citizenship in both the United States and New Zealand. I have lived in the United States longer than I lived in New Zealand.
I have been a Booneville resident since 1992. I am married to Bernice Posey Robson, retired Booneville Elementary School teacher. Together we have a blended family of 6 adult children, several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
I began my agricultural related profession at the Oklahoma State University (OSU/USDA). I also worked in Reno, Nevada, and West Texas. I moved to Booneville in 1992 and began working for the USDA Booneville Agricultural Research Center, locally known as the Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center.
I am active in my church, support and attend local school activities and sports, and community activities. I served on the South Logan County Fair Board for many years. I know how important it is to be a part of the community and devote time and energy to helping our hometown make positive changes and plans for the future.
As a council member, I believe it is important to effectively work with other council members and our mayor on city needs and improvements. I believe all council members need to be wise managers of city funds. I also feel it is important that a council member be available to visit with and listen to concerns people may have.
As an elected council member, I will continue taking an active role in the city’s ongoing improvements, to plan for the future, and help to solve the challenges we may face. I do believe it takes all of us working together to make positive and effective change that will benefit Booneville and, of course, our children.
It has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Booneville. I ask for your vote in the upcoming re-election.
